The Shine family have been in the fishing industry for over 50 years. john was a fisherman for 20 years. Their Irish winter Mackerel are caught between November and February each year when they quality of the fish are at their peak. Winter Mackerel are between 30% and 40% more valuable to fishermen because of their high quality compared to Mackerel caught at any other time of the year. The epic migratory journey of Winter Mackerel sees them swim from the waters of Scotland to the shores of Ireland, where they are predominantly caught, landed, and processed within mere hours of their arrival.
