Turnips and swedes are both members of the Brassica family and are closely related to each other – in fact their names are often confused. In Ireland and Scotland, swedes are traditionally referred to as turnips. Naturally fat free, low in calories, high in fibre, source of vitamin C, which contributes to the the normal function of the immune system and reduces tiredness and fatigue.

About the Producer

The Thorpe family has been farming in Knockroe since the 1700s. Desmond and Olive, along with their family, started conversion to farming organically in 1985. It 's been fully certified organic with the Irish Organic Association for over thirty years. The farm produces a range of seasonal vegetables, including broccoli, cabbages, cauliflowers, along with oats and some beef and lamb. They are located near New Ross in Co. Wexford.
