Green Saffron Vintage Aged Basmati rice elevates the basmati experience with grains aged for even more fragrance and elongation. Each grain is carefully selected and sourced from ethical, small-scale farmers in India. Every season, they search the best crops of the best grain (the 1121 varietal) in the best region to give you the best rice. If you're not sure, just try it! Green Saffron can almost guarantee it's the best basmati you've ever tried.
Typical basmati rice is only 80% basmati and 20% non-basmati. Our rice is 100% basmati. They take a single strain Basmati renowned for its length of each plump grain, age it in a stable temperature environment for up to three years. Vintage. As the rice is turned over and aerated, a deal of the crop is lost, so only a small percentage of an annual crop is aged for any length of time. They then put it though a complex system of 8+15 rollers to polish, clean and grade based on colour and length, then repeat five times to make sure.
