The Flahavan’s family has been milling oats in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford for over 200 years. Now in its seventh generation, the company continues to source its quality wholegrain oats locally from growers based within a 60 mile radius of its Mill.
Nestled just beneath the Comeragh Mountains, Flahavan’s are perfectly located to benefit from optimal climate and soil conditions, which help produce world-class oats year after year. Best-known for its Progress Oatlets, the company has a wide array of oat-based products in its range including Organic Oats, Gluten Free Oats, Granola, Muesli, Flapjacks as well as its recently launched Oat Drinks range. Innovation remains at the heart of what this Waterford-based company is all about and it continues to drive growth by developing new wholesome oat-based products to meet the changing needs of its consumers.
Flahavan’s is committed to minimising its impact on the environment, and it was awarded Gold Member status by Origin Green in 2021. The company self-generates 70% of its own energy through wind and water turbines, solar panels and its bio-mass boiler, which is fuelled by burning the outer husks of the oats.
