Originally established in the 1900s, Hickeys is a fourth generation family bakery based in Clonmel Co. Tipperary and now run by the powerhouse that is Nuala Hickey. Powerhouse, because Nuala is not just passionate about her own produce, she a great advocate of all artisan producers in her home county , she is one of those producers we adore having on sampling days instore, because she really enjoys engaging with the customers and discussing food…all food, as long as it’s good food, which is exactly what Hickeys Award Winning Barm Brack is, no actually it’s not just good it’s amazing…especially cut thick and slathered in real Irish butter, accompanied by a cup of tea!
