    The Happy Pear Living Foods

Darragh Flynn is the younger brother of the twins Stephen and David Flynn of the Happy Pear in Greystones, Co. Wicklow. In 2009, Darragh set up Living Foods on his half-acre farm just up the road in Newcastle, where he grows range of sprouts - which includes broccoli, alfalfa, cabbage and radish sprouts, together beans and wheatgrass. Called ‘Living Foods’ because – with the exception of the ones that are harvested and cut – they are still growing up until the moment you eat them, sprouts have the highest concentration of nutrition per calorie of any food. Wheatgrass is young wheat – only eight to ten days old - and contains every vitamin and virtually every mineral! The Happy Pear supplies us with bags of cut wheatgrass for juicing in our Juice Master Juice Bar as well as for selling in the store. We also stock some of their sprouts and shoots as well as their Sundried Tomato Pesto and Lovely Basil Pesto, which are a must-taste!
