Longueville House Irish Apple Brandy 50cl

Price: €36.00

Longueville House Irish Apple Brandy is produced in limited quantities on the 500-acre farm in the Blackwater Valley, County Cork.

The Apple Brandy is hand made from Dabinet and Michelin apples and contain no artificial sweeteners, additives, colourings or preservatives.

In Autumn, they crush and press their apples on the farm within hours of harvesting. The apple juice is then naturally fermented for four months by the action of a unique natural yeast. The resulting cider is double distilled on site in copper pot stills. It is then matured in French Oak for 4 years. This unique Irish Brandy offers rich aromas of tangy apples and dried apricots with a peppery spice and background of vanilla and butterscotch.

This nose is complimented by a complex taste of baked apple pie, honey and dried fruit with a lingering finish to savour and enjoy!

The Story of the Producer

Longueville House

Longueville House

In 1995 Michael O’Callaghan of Longueville House planted 25 acres of apple orchards with a vision of producing Irish apple brandy. His son William then developed the idea of also selling the wonderful cider which is already being produced as part of the brandy making process. The cider is produced in the traditional way – with apples being harvested in October and crushed in an oak cider press. The fresh juice is then fermented with its natural yeasts for 4-5 months to produce a rich amber coloured cider with a unique taste. The cider is filtered and pasteurised, but no sugars, colours or preservatives are added.
