Abernethy Butter
Nestled in the Dromara hills in County Down, you will find Beechtree Farm,where the most creamy butter is made. The skill has been passed down through the family for generations and each roll of butter is lovingly made just like Granny did.
Will and Allison began making butter in 2005 and The Abernethy Butter Company was born. They started out by going to local agricultural and vintage shows, demonstrating how cream was churned and turned into butter.
Realizing there was a market for their lovely creamy butter, they have developed the product and now their butter is sold in many shops throughout Northern Ireland.
The couple source their cream from a local farm that grazes it's cows on the lush green pastures of The Lagan Valley.
Will and Allison still love going out and demonstrating their art at local shows, farmers markets and country fairs. With their butter churn and pats in tow, they put nothing but fresh local cream, a pinch of salt and hard work into their butter.
If you see them doing a demonstration, go and say hello and then take some butter home.
