Hadji Bey has been part of Ireland's food tradition since 1902 when a young Armenian named Harutun Batmazian set up stall at the Great Cork International Exhibition making Turkish Delight. Harutun then established a shop and factory adjacent to Cork's famous Metropole Hotel and soon his shop became an equally famous landmark. Harutun gradually added to his range of confectionery and was never afraid to try out new confections when they came along. Harutun and his successors have always strongly believed in the integrity of the Hadji Bey brand through a total focus on producing only quality products and the long experience gained in perfecting rose flavoured Turkish delight is now being applied to creating their unique rose flavoured iced Caramels.
