Hadji Bey has been part of Ireland's food tradition since 1902 when a young Armenian named Harutun Batmazian set up stall at the Great Cork International Exhibition making Turkish Delight. Harutun then established a shop and factory adjacent to Cork's famous Metropole Hotel and soon his shop became an equally famous landmark. Harutun gradually added to his range of confectionery and he only used the finest ingredients that came from all parts of the world. Harutun and his successors have always believed in the integrity of the Hadji Bey brand through a total focus on the use of superior quality ingredients.
