Muscadet Sèvre et Maine extends across some twenty communes to the south east of Nantes in western France and takes its name from the two rivers that flow through the vineyards: The Sèvre Nantaise and The Maine. A temperate oceanic climate with rainfall evenly spread throughout the year offers perfect growing conditions for Melon de Bourgogne. This dry white wine offers a unique style. Hints of flower, melon and lime compliment a refreshing crispness and fine and delicate minerality.  'Sur Lie' refers to the ageing process of the wine whereby the wine sits on the dead yeast particles left over from the fermentation process for a minimum of 6 months. As the yeast particles break down, amino acids and small amounts of sugars are released into the wine, adding to the wine's complexity. At 11.5% abv, this makes for an accessible and versatile wine that pairs well with fish, seafood, poultry and goats cheese.
