Metalman Brewing Company
Metalman Brewing is the brain-child of a couple of beer enthusiasts Gráinne Walsh and Tim Barber who were frustrated by the lack of availability and choice of flavoursome, authentically Irish beer. Inspired by some of the other small Irish brewers, they eventually decided to try and help do something about it. Launched in 2011, the first beer, Metalman Pale Ale, was brewed under contract at the White Gypsy Brewery in Tipperary before finally moving to their own Waterford city brewery in 2012. Initially their Pale Ale was only available on draught but in January 2015 we finally got our hands on the first supply of Pale Ale in 330cl cans! The name of the brewery is inspired by a seafaring navigational aid called the Metalman which was erected in 1823 (and still stands) on Waterford’s Tramore coast.
