We are now seeking applications from enthusiastic and energetic people who would like to be part of our team who ensure first class customer service and fresh produce for our customers as Fruit & Veg Department Manager. A position which allows you to develop and maintain supplier relationships with a collaborative and long-term approach, gaining and using a detailed knowledge of product range, seasonality and producers to offer a superior range in terms of quality and local provenance.

Duties will include: 

• Selecting, pricing and ordering of stock
• Maintaining an excellent standard of merchandising, display and point of sale material
• Training, motivating and organising a small team.
• Quality control
• Ensuring excellent hygiene and housekeeping standards in fruit and veg sales and storage areas are that food safety best practice is adhered to.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in good food and an understanding of fruit and veg production and seasonality.

A physically demanding job, experience working in a similar environment combined with a good knowledge of food handling and hygiene best practice is preferable along with a basic proficiency in computer applications.

This is a full-time position approximately 39hrs/week.

Early morning starts will be required as well as some evening and weekend work.

Pay will be commensurate with skill level and experience.
