This week, it’s all about the Milk
The earliest food memory for many, Milk doesn’t need an introduction or does it?
While intrinsically the same original product, much has changed in the milk market over the past number of years and this week’s Thursday Tasting is going to look at some of those changes. From the pasteurised and homogenised milk that we are all familiar with, to the many alternatives now available on our shelves, picking the right milk for you and your family can be confusing and at times overwhelming.
With this in mind, we will be sampling and chatting about the range of different milks that we stock and love here at Ardkeen Quality Food Store. These will be including Fairfield Farm unhomogenised milk, Dysert Farm Organic Raw Milk, Meadowfield Farm Goat’s Milk and a plant based alternative to dairy milk, Almond milk. So, pop in store on Thursday from 3 for a glass of the creamy stuff, a chat and yes, there will be biscuits.

Meadowfield Farm Fresh Goat’s Milk 1ltr
Pasteurised non-homogenised Goat’s Milk from Co. Wexford.
Meadowfield Goat Farm was established in 2015 by Wexford farmer John Joe Roche with his wife Marisa & family. Our own herd of goats are fed on a grass and herb diet which makes our milk mild, sweet and creamy. Our milk is pasteurised but not homogenised leaving the milk the way it should be, creamy, simple goodness!
