Take Ours Back To Yours
A while back, when the ecomomy was well and truly under a dark cloud, we saw that the struggle to keep things afloat was a real everyday challenge for our small producers.
We also saw, that because of their very nature these guys were showing true grit and working as hard as they possibly could to make what many would consider a 'kitchen enterprise' succeed.
We admired their tenacity....and then we thought...ok time to up the ante on the support.
Truth is these 'little' businesses are the very essesence of our business, craftspeople with an uncompromised commitment to food making skill and an unfailing passion and belief in the quality & superior taste of small batch production.
So we decided to launch a communincations campaign, we called it 'Take Our Back To Yours'
Great Food, Direct from our Community of Irish Producers, Growers & Farmers.
This is not a new message from us at Ardkeen, we’ve been extolling the virtues of food grown & made locally or nationally on a small scale for the best part of our 48-year existence.
However, we thought that it was time to remind ourselves and our customers why it’s still an important message - if not more so, in difficult times.
So, why should we all support the small guys?
- Quality – No question, this community have the skill and passion to beat the big brands for quality every time.
- Taste – Better ingredients and less processing means these products are better for you and taste delicious.
- Value – Artisan makers and small-scale growers are careful with money. No big marketing budget or big-company profit targets means your money pays for the quality of the product.
We took to the press, billboards and social media with the campaign and even made a little video letting the producers explain their stories (you'll find it on our homepage).
We’ve highlighted many of this great food community on our website under the banner of ‘Food Heroes’ but happily it’s an ever evolving and growing list thanks to a surge in the number of small food enterprises in Ireland (one good thing about economic downturn is that it makes people reconsider and sometimes discover their skills).
Instore we made it as easy as possible for customers to find the products on our shelves, highlighting with ‘Take Ours Back To Yours’ shelf talkers, giving valuable information, like; where it’s made, by whom and why exactly their product is so good.
And every week we continue our schedule of Meet the Producer Events instore that allow you to not only sample the food but also to talk to the person who makes, bakes, smokes, grows, or cooks that great food.
We believe that this unique community of small scale producers deserve our support and yours.
