Gubbeen Farmhouse Products
This week’s Thursday tasting features produce from one of Ireland’s best known and loved quality artisan food producer, Gubbeen Farmhouse.
Synonymous with good food, few names stand out more in West Cork than Gubbeen Farm outside the village of Schull. The Ferguson family have worked Gubbeen Farm for many generations, adding value to their clean air and early grass fed herd milk by producing cheese, charcuterie, greens, oatcakes and handmade knives.
Their shared vision, passion and commitment to produce food that comes directly from the land to the customer in the purest and freshest way possible has been recognised in Ireland and abroad for many years as a symbol of excellence.
Organic, GMO free and bio dynamic principals are inherent in farming at Gubbeen and their farmhouse products are sold at local markets in Cork and through several outlets including Ardkeen Quality Food Store both at home in Ireland and overseas.
We look forward to sharing many of the most loved Gubbeen Farmhouse products which we have stocked and enjoyed here at for many years.
Great charcuterie deserves great wine and this week’s wines are perfect summer dining choices. The low yield, elegant Villa Huesgen Riesling Kabinett with aromas of quince and apricot, good acidity, structure and length and the lighter in style and alcohol than the full bodied reds often recommended for charcuterie, classic Coteaux Bourguignons from Joseph Drouhin will delight.
So pop in for a taste and a chat from 3!
